The Nordica GT 76 Ti EVO, new for 2017, is a mid-level model in the new GT series of narrow-waisted frontside carvers. Nordica offers two GTs at this waist width (a knifey 76 mm). As its name implies, the Ti version contains metal for high-speed vibration dampening and torsional rigidity-two full sheets reinforcing its full wood core. For something even lighter and livelier, the GT 76 Ca has no metal and is reinforced with carbon fibers only. Both models feature the same shape and camber/rocker profile as the top two models in the line: Nearly-full-length camber gives them edge grip and rebound energy, while a touch of tip rocker makes turn entries less abrupt and helps for drifting and feathering arcs at high speeds. The GT 76 Ti comes with a rugged 12-DIN binding, while the GT 76 Ca gets a lighter-weight 10-DIN binding. Nordica's new GT series, which replaces its Firearrow collection, is a six-model collection of narrow-waisted hard-snow carvers aimed at skiers who expect to spend most of their time on groomed runs-or want a narrow ski in the quiver for groomer-day fun between storms. The GTs are designed and sold as systems, with sturdy 12-DIN bindings on the top three models and lighter, more affordable 10-DINs on the lower three models. Waist widths range from 84 mm at the top end down to 75 mm. Target ability and level of performance decrease correspondingly-fatter skis for the experts, narrower and less expensive ones for intermediates and novices. Constructions vary accordingly, from strong and edgy at the top end (GT 84 Ti and GT 80 Ti) to light and soft at the bottom (GT 78, GT 75).
