Ovo Helmets 2001-02
Ovo is a Massachusetts-based start-up helmet company. Industry veterans on the Ovo team include Mike Bisner, director of marketing and sales; Greg Hadley; national sales manager; and Ernie D’Angelo, national marketing manager. Ovo helmets are said to “meet or exceed” the new ASTM helmet standards. They feature an injection-molded polycarbonate outer shell, a two-stage air-flow venting system, and a removable liner. The top-of-the-line Titan Series includes the flagship Titan Carbon ($199), which sports a high-tech carbon-fiber dome, and the Titan Composite ($179). Both feature the company’s Strap Trap System (S.T.S.), with side clips that eliminate dangling goggles. At lower price points, Ovo has the Alpha Series, which features a hip freeride look and “tons of ventilation.” Models include the Storm ($149), Awol ($139), Rip ($109), Blitz Jr. ($99), and Rip Jr. ($89).
