The Northshore has the same five-point shape as the Apostle, with the widest points of the ski moved in from the tip and tail to match the ski's contact point with the snow, but its wider girth makes it more of a powder specialist. It's a similar design to Rossi's groundbreaking S7, but its wood core goes all the way into the tip to eliminate any dead spot. The flex pattern changes in powder, because the tip and tail come into contact with the snow, giving it a longer turn radius when you need it. Which should make it more versatile than you'd think for a ski this wide. It was named for the Northshore backcountry area off Jackson Hole, 1,700 vertical feet of steep powder and droppable cliff bands, so it's not for the faint of heart. It's not as wide as The Whole Enchilada, however, so it should feel nimble enough for tight couloirs.
