Pro Salomon brings plenty of innovation to this replacement for the acclaimed Course but keeps the design clean. The Falcon uses a new version of the Spaceframe concept to soften the lateral (little-toe) side of the boot in a way that makes the inside ski-edge less grabby. But instead of cutting holes in the shell, as with the Course, Salomon molds softer plastic into the shell wall. Meanwhile, a high-quality leather liner hugs the foot securely, and Salomon's 3D buckle adjusts to optimize the angle at which it wraps the instep. It's a uniquely comfortable race boot, and the Falcon put up higher scores than any boot in the critical Lateral Response and Rear Support criteria. "There's something fantastic going on with this liner," said Schaffner. "It sucks your foot to the bottom and into the heel pocket." Con Tough to get into; pinches on exit. Top Scores Lateral Response 4.2, Rear Support 4.2, Steering Power 4.1
