The all-new Iris is an all mountain ski intended to perform both on and off-piste, but more so off-piste. It has a 125 mm tip and 78 mm waist (at 161 cm). Semi-Sandwich Sidewall construction utilizes ABS plastic, designed for edge grip and an easier, more maneuverable turning experience, and Woodcore is built in to give the ski stability and reduce chatter. For something similar, check out the Gemma, Astra, Cira, Luan, and Kiana. The all-new Women’s Frontside All Mountain series focuses on women’s skis intended to go all over the mountain, featuring six different models with waists ranging from 75 mm – 85 mm. Carve Rocker lifts the tip up and off the ground, designed for better turn initiation while the rest of the ski stays flat on the ground. Control Frame is shaped with emphasis on more commonly utilized edge zones underfoot, designed for edge grip. A Comfortech layer is also integrated, designed to reduce chatter from the top of the ski. Salomon, based in Annecy, France, was founded in 1947. Its U.S. headquarters are in Ogden, Utah.
