Equally intended for both on and off-piste skiing, the Q-98 is an all mountain ski built with versatility in mind. It's 98 mm underfoot with an 18.8 m radius (at 180 cm). Semi-Sandwich Sidewall construction utilizes ABS plastic, designed for edge grip and an easier, more maneuverable turning experience. Honeycomb Tip technology lightens the tip and tail, designed for floatation and less chatter. Wide Edges are built to be extra durable for burlier terrain. If you find yourself skiing groomers one day and powder the next, this is a good option for you from Salomon. For something similar but wider, check out the Q-Lab, Q-115, and Q-105. And for something similar but skinnier, check out the Q-90 and Q-85. The Backside All Mountain series is comprised of six different skis ranging from 85 - 115 mm underfoot. Each ski has its own specialty, but they all share an intention to shred all over the mountain and provide lots of fun. Full Woodcore is built in to give the ski stability and reduce chatter and Utility Rocker that lifts the tip and tail up and off the ground, intended for floatation, absorption, and edge grip. Hook Free Taper additionally moves the ski's widest points slightly away from the tip and tail and towards the binding, designed for better turn initiation and reduced hooking, especially in powder and other conditions outside the groomers. If you like to ski a little bit of everything, this is one of Salomon's best series for you. Salomon, based in Annecy, France, was founded in 1947. Its U.S. headquarters are in Ogden, Utah.
