The X-Drive 8.8 FS is the widest ski in Salomon's Frontside All Mountain series, equally intended for carving and skiing rougher, off-piste conditions. It has a 130 mm tip, 88 mm waist, and 17.8 m radius (at 179 cm). Full Sandwich Sidewall construction utilizes ABS plastic and laminates designed for a lightweight and durable profile. Light Density Full Woodcore utilizes poplar designed for stability while also being 15% lighter than Salomon's main Full Woodcore design. All Terrain Rocker 2.0 lifts the tail up and off the ground, designed to absorb varied conditions and maneuver better, while the tail is slightly lifted as well, designed to absorb chatter and other vibrations. X-Chassis utilizes carbon and polyamide layers, designed for edge grip and stability. RKS uses 3D composite fiber, designed to stabilize rockered zones. Basalt Layer is heavily dampened, also designed to reduce chatter and other vibrations. Honeycomb Tip technology lightens the tip, designed for floatation and even less chatter. Its U.S. headquarters are in Ogden, Utah.
