The X-Race is a race-style ski that’s built nearly identical to the Salomon’s World Cup race equipment, but with a more all mountain focus. Its radius ranges greatly, from 11 – 19 m alongside the 155, 165, 170, 175, and 180 cm lengths available. Full Woodcore is built to give the ski stability and reduce chatter. Active Contact Sidewall construction is angled on each side of the ski, designed for extra race-like edge angles. Powerline technology dampens the ski, designed to reduce further chatter and other vibrations. Carve Rocker lifts the tip up and off the ground, designed for better turn initiation, while the rest of the ski stays flat on the ground. Double Ti Laminate utilizes two layers of titanium, designed for extra stability and powerful turns. For something similarly race-focused from Salomon, check out the X-Max, X-Pro SW, and the women’s W-Max. Salomon, based in Annecy, France, was founded in 1947. Its U.S. headquarters are in Ogden, Utah.
