Emergent Scott again impressed testers with its deep-snow know-how. The P4's sidecut is as modest as its price, and two sheets of Titanal give it integrity, but a forgiving flex yields an easy feel-soft in the tip, so it never dives in deep stuff, but progressively firmer under foot. Yes, it's a full twin-tip, and youthful Scott positions it as a "big-mountain jibber," but that seems like a waste for a ski that's so energetic and capable in any big-mountain, soft-snow situation. "It's at ease anywhere on the hill," said Couperthwait. "Push it hard or just relax and ride it."
Powder-specialty ski buyer on a budget.
Hard-snow, where it gets a little planky.
