Nordica may not be introducing a new Enforcer for the 2021-’22 season, but the brand does have some exciting gear in the works. Come fall, Nordica will be dropping the latest iteration of its iconic ski boot, the Speedmachine 3.

Women, specifically, get excited about the new Wild Belle ski collection and its flagship Wild Belle 84 DC ski, which contains zero metal in the core yet is designed to ski as if it does.

Ever since Nordica first introduced the Speedmachine ski boot 16 years ago, the brand has been constantly tinkering away at it in an effort to optimize fit and performance for strong, athletic skiers who demand best-in-class energy transfer.

A few years ago the Speedmachine got a serious tech upgrade in the form of a customizable cork liner that firmly forms around the ankle to keep the foot locked in. For 2022, Nordica one-ups that cork liner with its 3Force Technology liner, which combines the customizable cork with an EVA insert around the ankle and an adjustable tongue. This new liner is meant to further improve fit and encourage seamless energy transfer between boot and ski.

Nordica also slightly tweaked the shell design of the Speedmachine 3 to enhance performance while making it lighter than its predecessors. The boot’s shell is made from a hard plastic honeycomb structure injected with softer plastics, a construction that helps shave weight while still maintaining stiffness for a high-performance flex.

The new Speedmachine 3 will be available in two models for men with a 130 flex and 120 flex, and two models for women with a 115 and 105 flex.

On to the exciting news for ladies who need something edgier than the Santa Ana 88 to slice up groomers. Nordica’s all-new Wild Belle line adds three new women’s-specific skis designed for frontside fun.

The collection’s flagship model, the Wild Belle DC 88, features Nordica’s new Double Core construction technology, which includes two poplar cores with beech wood stringers sandwiching a thin layer of rubber in the center of the ski. Translation: There’s a lot of wood in the middle of this ski, but no metal. The result is meant to be a lively, poppy frontside ski that nevertheless provides a smooth and damp ride.

The Wild Belle DC 88 and its sister models, the Wild Belle 78 CA and 74, also include women’s-specific design elements tailored to a woman’s size and body mechanics. On all three models, the two parts of the binding plate are shorter and moved closer together, which allows the ski to flex more naturally when pressured.
