SKI Test 2018: The Stoke Gallery from Deer Valley

Testing skis is hard work, but luckily our crew knows how to have fun.
Publish date:

There really is no ski area in the USA quite like Deer Valley Resort. Yes, the amenities are some of the best in the world, but what you don’t hear about is the incredibly diverse terrain. From steep, tight chutes to wide open bowls to scenic groomers with views for days, Deer Valley should be on everyone’s short list of places to ski in the near future. And the turkey chili is world famous for good reason.

Additionally, keeping two dozen testers happy is no small task, so we have to give special recognition to the SKI Test sponsors, including Beyond Coastal for sunburn prevention, Helly Hansen for the threads, Uvex for the eye protection, Under Armour for the baselayers, Bern for the brain buckets, Swiftwick for the socks, Skida for the neckwarmers and headbands, Flylow for the gloves, Chaos for the hats, Deuter for the backpacks, STANLEY for the mugs, and Honey Stinger for the snacks.

Perhaps most importantly, we owe a big shout-out to Upslope Beer, The Infinite Monkey Theorem Wine, Suerte Tequila, and Wyoming Whiskey for the fun juice and “good vibes only” help.

Snowmaking at Deer Valley

Deer Valley Resort’s snowmaking crew has been hard at work for almost a month, in order to get the mountain ready for opening day on Saturday, December 3. Deer Valley® makes a significant investment in snowmaking to ensure the best quality ski experience for our guests. This snow provides a more durable base allowing for consistent grooming on high-traffic runs throughout the ski season.
