Waist Width: 77
The Scale Beta is the second-skinniest ski in Stockli's All Mountain series, with its waist ranging from 75 - 78 mm depending on length. It's designed to charge beyond the groomers, though, with its All Mountain Rocker, which lifts the tip up and over powder and other varied conditions, designed to increase floatation and make turn initiation easier. This rocker profile also lifts the underfoot section up and off the ground, intended for extra floatation when the ski needs it. For something similar but wider, check out the Scale Gamma and Scale Delta. And for something similar but skinnier, check out the Scale Alpha. The All Mountain series is comprised of four different models, all falling under the the "Scale" subcategory. There's the Scale Alpha, Scale Beta, Scale Gamma, and Scale Delta. All skis in the series share Light Core technology, which integrates woods like fuma and balsa, designed to reduce weight while maintaining durability and stability. These are carving skis for the most part, but Stockli says they're intended to go all over the mountain as well. Stockli, based in Wolhusen, Switzerland, was founded in 1935. Its U.S. headquarters are in Shelburne, Vermont.
