Moguls transcend skiing. They symbolize the unflagging optimism that runs deep in all of us. We return to them time and again, believing that some day, some run, we’ll dance down a mogul field like an alpine Fred Astaire, gliding and dipping with grace and ease. When we don’t, we go back anyway, and try it again. Bump after bump, run after run, season after season. Moguls represent the victory of hope over experience. Because even the small success of a few smooth turns is enough to get us back to the summit to peer over our ski tips down at that mogul field-again. This time, we’ll nail ’em.
