The Colorado local looks to expand Salewa's presence among Rocky Mountain residents as the new brand representative for the region.

For Eric Poore, mountains—and the people who embrace them—are a way of life.

As a Colorado resident since 2007, Poore knows just how seriously Rocky Mountain residents take the mountain lifestyle, and he has made it his job to serve that community. This year, Poore became the Rocky Mountain Territory brand representative for Salewa North America, a leading mountain sports company that sincerely values that same mountain lifestyle.

Salewa Rocky Mountain representative Eric Poore stands for a portrait in the mountains.

Poore is originally from Seattle, WA, but joined the Colorado family when he became a University of Colorado buffalo in 2007.

Salewa North American operates Dynafit, Salewa, Wild Country, and POMOCA. Although the company was born and bred in the Italian Dolomites, its biggest sales market is the Rocky Mountain Territory—the region now under Poore’s experienced eye.

“The Rocky Mountain Territory is our biggest territory in terms of sales, and the largest part of our business,” Poore said. “We want that to continue and to get even bigger. We can see that all four of the Salewa brands resonate with people particularly in Colorado, Utah and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and we know they resonate with people who embrace a mountain culture.”

It's as good of time as any to move up in the oudoor world. Or, if there's powder, go down.

Poore knows what he’s talking about. A seven-year veteran of the ski and outdoor industries, he first started as a customer service representative for Salewa from 2012-2014 before becoming a sales associate for Recreation Equipment Incorporated (REI). Before taking on his new role at Salewa North America, Poore served as an international sales professional with Utah-based Wasatch Reps, where he represented all four Salewa brands in the same territory.

Poore hopes to connect with the outdoor community on a deeper level in his effort to expand Salewa’s presence in the Rocky Mountain region. As he takes on this new role at Salewa, his main goal will be to boost the Salewa brands’ presence within retail stories and at select events.

For Poore, this mission starts within the company and moves outward into the community. “I want the salespeople in these retail outlets to be excited about the Salewa products, because if they’re psyched about our gear, they’ll recommend it to their customers,” Poore said.

Using this inside-out approach, Poore hopes to grow Salewa’s presence in Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming. By doing so, he will continue to promote the active outdoor lifestyle that he and so many of us embrace in our lives.
