2002 silver medalists Bode Miller and Shannon Bahrke, defending World Cup champions Jeremy Bloom and Jeret "Speedy" Peterson, and three-event star Daron Rahlves are among the 32 athletes nominated to the U.S. Olympic Ski Team, pending approval from the U.S. Olympic committee.

Bill Marolt, president and CEO of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association made the announcement earlier this week. Expectations were high for Bloom and Rahlves to make the cut and the recent Miller interview on

left some wondering whether he would be included, but the team roster became official on Wednesday.

The 19-member Alpine Team will consist of nine men and ten women, fourteen of which have competed in previous Olympics with eight three-time Olympians. The 14-member Freestyle Team will include eight men and six women with seven athletes returning from the previous Olympics.

Notables for the Alpine Team include Miller, winner of the overall alpine World Cup title-the first American to accomplish that feat since 1983-and 11-time World Cup winner Daron Rahlves. Up-and-comers like Vail, Colorado's four-event star Lindsey Kildow and Olympic Valley, California's Julia Mancuso will be looking to make a name for themselves in the Olympic Arena.

Stand-outs on the Freestyle Team include multi-sport phenom Bloom, who's 2005 World Cup overall championship gives him a record-tying sixth consecutive win and 2005 moguls world champion Hannah Kearney .

Both Olympic teams wrap up World Cup races this weekend before heading to Torino for the games which commence on February 10th and run through the 26th.
