Are you still hoping to welcome the New Year amidst the grand snowcapped mountains of North America? A few lodging and lift ticket deals can still be had. Check out these ski resort deals and packages that celebrate the year 2001!Fireworks, torchlight parades, and parties will mark the night of December 31, 2000 at ski resorts around the country. But the fact is that there probably isn’t a tougher time than at New Year’s to get a room in the mountains. Many resorts are literally booked solid and some hotels have become accustomed to taking bookings a year in advance. But for the intrepid skier or boarder bent on spending New Year’s on the slopes, there are still some last minute deals to look into.
“There is space available,” confirms Lance Cygielman of Ski Vacation Planners. “We can always get someone in if they’re flexible.”
He points to Salt Lake City hotels as place to stay for skiers who can’t get into mountainside accommodations. As for airfare, his advice is “get creative. January 1st and 2nd are ridiculous, but we’ve seen a few seats open up on January 3rd and 4th. If you can extend your New Year’s celebration by a day or two, you might get lucky. And some of the lodging rates tend to go down as of January 1st.”
We looked around and came up with 13 places that will welcome you to the last rooms they have left. Rates are per room, per night, unless noted, and are based on double occupancy.
