25 Top Spots: #18 The Canyons, UT

Labyrinthine is the word that best describes the constellation of valleys and ridges that make up The Canyons; lost is the word that best describes the plight of first-time visitors who don't take the size and diversity of this place seriously. Although The Canyons claims more intermediate fare than other Utah resorts, the terrain here also hides north-facing tree runs as precipitous as they come. And the gates lead to the best backcountry terrain in the county.
