58th Annual Toast to Winter will be Held January 8 - 11, 2009

ASPEN, Colo. – Wintersköl™, a spirited tribute to Aspen’s winter playground, celebrates another snowy season January 8 – 11, 2009. For 58 years, Aspen locals and visitors have toasted winter with four days of fun-for-the-whole-family alpine festivities. Today, Wintersköl sums up the character of this mountain town and Aspen’s free-spirited lifestyle. Join the celebration with plenty of people watching, après-ski sipping, gourmet soup savoring, and family fun in Aspen’s winter wonderland.

The Wintersköl™ lineup includes four days of fun, wacky and off-the-wall events, appealing to all ages and interests. Highlights include the following:
* Anderson Ranch Arts Center’s Wintersculpt, a 48-hour snow sculpture and carving competition
* Men’s Health Village at Wintersköl™ (sponsored by Men’s Health magazine) featuring booths, products and demonstrations in the Gondola Plaza in Aspen
* Now in its fifth year, Soupsköl, draws eager crowds to the streets of Aspen, where local restaurants offer free samples of their best soups and stews. Tasters vote for their favorite creations in different categories.

Today, Wintersköl™ includes more than 30 events in downtown Aspen, Snowmass Village, and the four ski areas: Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk. Wintersköl™ festivities begin Thursday, Jan. 8 and continue through Sunday, Jan. 11.
