Over Memorial Day weekend, Telluride, Colorado will host the annual Mountainfilm Festival, a gathering of outdoor and environmental filmmakers, as well as athletes, artists, and more. We spoke to festival director David Holbrooke about the ski films playing at this year’s festival.
When the snow melts and the season ends, many of us trade boots and skis for clubs and balls, rediscovering a love for all things green on sun-drenched fairways that stretch on for miles. Mountain recreation enthusiasts have known for years about the great golf opportunities in the high country, with celebrity course designers and rethought layouts built into the sides of our favorite mountains, we could not help but join them. Here are our top-five public mountain golf courses.
The 39th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival was all sunshine and a smiles, not to mention incredible tunes as beautiful as the mountain peaks surrounding downtown Telluride. Performers included Alison Krauss, John Fogerty, Bruce Hornsby and the "King of Telluride" Sam Bush.
Serving up one last chance to extend the summer, the 17th Annual Telluride Blues and Brews Festival offered world class music and craft beer in a picturesque mountain setting this past weekend. We headed to Town Park to check out the festivities. Telluride Blues and Brews Festival provides the kind of funky, laid back attitude that can only be found in Telluride. At 8,750 feet above sea level, the historic mining town has long been considered the quintessential Colorado concert experience and we would have to agree.
