Dining On the mountain, Ptarmigan's Pub is the place for lunch or après munchies; Nicky I's is the place for Italian, pizza and great appetizers. Off the mountain, North Conway and Jackson offer endless choices: Check out the Moat Mountain Smoke House in North Conway for barbeque, brewpub beer and family friendliness (603-356-6381) and Yesterdays in Jackson for the best breakfast (603-383-4457).

Après-ski Ptarmigan's is always rowdy after last chair. Afterward, follow the locals to Delaney's Hole in the Wall in North Conway (603-356-7776) or the classic Horsefeathers, also in North Conway (603-356-6862). And it wouldn't be a trip to Attitash without après at the nearby Red Parka Pub, which has been partying since Attitash began (603-383-4344).

Getting there From Boston (2 1/2 hours) and Rhode Island: Take Route 1 North to I-95 North, then the Spaulding Turnpike North to Route 16 North, then Route 302 West three miles to Attitash. From New York City (6 hours), take I-95 North to I-91 North, then I-84 East to I-90 East (Mass Pike), then I-495 North to I-95 North; proceed as above.
