Chesa Grischuna is a compact 25-room, six-story chalet with an old-world feel. The wood-paneled rooms are small but amply elegant and extremely cozy. The hotel is decorated with antiques, paintings and carvings, and is endowed with a few quirky touches, like a two-lane bowling alley in the basement. The floors may creak in this 1890 structure, but Chesa Grischuna has long been the epicenter of style in Klosters. It's in the center of town, a short walk from the Gotschabahn cable car. Orson Welles, Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant were guests, and Gene Kelly danced on the tables in its famous vaulted cellar bar. And while Kelly and his Hollywood pals may be gone, Chesa Grischuna still has the best bar in a stylish town. Doubles start at about $315, including breakfast.
