Deer Valley® Knows Details

As a resort consistently rated #1 in guest service, Deer Valley knows a thing or two about details. And, it’s the details that keep guests coming back every year. Deer Valley still upholds the vision of its founder, Edgar B. Stern, by providing an experience at a ski resort that would mirror a five-star hotel.
Deer Valley Scenic Thumb

It became apparent from the very beginning that Deer Valley would set the bar for service in the ski industry.  From its rustic ski lodges offering gourmet food (when a burger would do) to the impeccable corduroy groomed each night, you can’t ask for much more.

This season, the list of upgraded amenities includes replacing the Deer Crest chairlift with a new high-speed detachable quad named Mountaineer Express.  This change will increase uphill skier capacity by 1,200 skiers per hour, continuing to give Deer Valley one of the highest skier capacity volumes for its size, all the while limiting the number of skiers. The Snow Park Lodge was remodeled to include an upgraded Natural Buffet and permanent coffee bar, the perfect lunchtime spot. Snowmaking capabilities were expanded in Empire Canyon and five additional Prinoth Snowcats, including one Beast Groomer were also added to the fleet.

Snowmaking at Deer Valley

Deer Valley Resort’s snowmaking crew has been hard at work for almost a month, in order to get the mountain ready for opening day on Saturday, December 3. Deer Valley® makes a significant investment in snowmaking to ensure the best quality ski experience for our guests. This snow provides a more durable base allowing for consistent grooming on high-traffic runs throughout the ski season.

Deer Valley's New Sharp Edge

The dining is divine and the service impeccable, but the skiing has always been as pampered as the guests. America’s most lavish ski resort, however, has quietly been toughening up its terrain. We sent a former U.S. Ski Teamer to investigate.
