Delta Airlines New Nonstop Service Between Salt Lake and Aspen/Snowmass

March 6, 2006

Aspen, CO (Delta Press Release)—Delta Air Lines today announced it will offer new nonstop jet service this summer between its Salt Lake City hub and Aspen/Snowmass, CO (ASE). Initially, there will be one daily flight offered during the summer season from June 8 through September 2, 2006 with the new Canadair CRJ-700.

"The fact that Delta has decided to add Aspen/Snowmass to the growing list of destinations served from their Salt Lake City hub will come as very exciting news to this entire business community, said Bill Tomcich, president of local central reservations agency, Stay Aspen Snowmass. "This flight cuts nearly an hour off the total journey time to and from cities throughout the west including Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle, it offers a new alternative from popular Delta markets elsewhere including Dallas/Ft Worth, Atlanta, Orlando and New York, and it even opens up dozens of smaller markets that used to be quite difficult to get to from ASE like Kalispell, MT and Redmond, OR. This new service will truly make travel to and from Aspen/Snowmass easier than ever.

"Delta is thrilled to be able to offer visitors and residents of Aspen/Snowmass a quick and convenient new alternative to and from more than 100 destinations through our Salt Lake City hub, said Bob Cortelyou, Delta's vice president of network planning. "Aspen/Snowmass is a premier mountain destination with one of the most convenient resort airports in the world, and with our partner SkyWest Airlines, we can now offer nonstop jet service from Salt Lake City featuring the remarkably fast, quiet and comfortable Canadair CRJ-700.

Today's announcement of new service to Aspen/Snowmass is being made in conjunction with an expansion of its Salt Lake City hub to include six other new nonstop destinations, as well. This brings the total number of destinations served nonstop from Salt Lake City to more than 100, most of which will offer well-timed connections to and from this new flight into Aspen/Snowmass.

"We are delighted to welcome Delta to the airlines serving our community, said Aspen/Pitkin County Airport director Jim Elwood. "We hope that this is just the beginning of a long and productive partnership.[pagebreak]The new nonstop Salt Lake City — Aspen/Snowmass service will be operated as Delta Connection by SkyWest Airlines with the CRJ-700 configured with 70 seats.
