Heli Holiday

Travel 1205

Has heliskiing gone soft? This holidayseason, Canadian Mountain Holidays unveils its first family heliskiing trips, geared toward kids 12 to 17 and their parents, at its Cariboo Lodge in British Columbia. Still, it's hardly child's play: Kids are guaranteed 50,000 vertical feet of skiing, with 100,000 for their parents. Each day begins with pure powder skiing in the Cariboo range, but when the kids tire out, they'll be helicoptered back to the lodge for supervised activities, including a climbing wall and igloo-building. Nightly dinner, with special menu choices for the kids, follows, plus holiday celebrations—including Christmas tree and menorah lightings—for good tidings. This year's dates are Dec. 21—28; adults $4,300, kids $2,150. 800-661-0252; cmhski.com
