Camp of Champions takes pride in the breadth and quality of its terrain. Skiers and snowboarders train side by side on Whistler's Blackcomb (or Horstman) Glacier, which never lacks for snow. Jibbers young and old can start out on modest hits and work their way up to huge air on a 50- to 60-foot table top. In the afternoon, all the attractions of bustling Whistler Village await. Activities include paintball, bungee jumping, movies, skateboarding and more.

"Crazy Canuck" Dave Murray helped give racing mass appeal in hockey-crazed Canada, but his namesake camps cater to those seeking park-and-pipe or simple freeskiing instruction as well. Blackcomb Glacier (more than 200 feet thick) offers reliable snow in even the leanest of years, as well as terrain steeper than most summer skiing destinations. Whistler Village is an attraction in itself. Kids and parents can attend together.

Freestyle hero Shane Szocs's camp boasts a who's who of contemporary rippers-Seth Morrison, JP Auclair, Pep Fujas, Jess Cumming, Nick Mercon, Shannon Schad and others-and promises a 3:1 coach-to-camper ratio. Campers have supervised access to a water ramp and trampoline, as well as one of the most comprehensive terrain parks on Blackcomb Glacier. The adult camp (July 16-23) costs $1,725.
