Hotel Hot List: The Canyons Dakota Mountain Lodge

Dakota Mountain Lodge, The Canyons, Utah

This grand new construction in the heart of The Canyons’ village opened in July with 201 rooms and suites plus a 16,000-square-foot Golden Door Spa. The guest quarters—standard hotel rooms through six-bedroom suites—each have a fireplace, HDTV and steam shower, and each suite has a kitchen with Viking appliances and granite counters. San Francisco–based Spruce Restaurant opened a satellite location here, where chef Mark Sullivan carries on the franchise’s expertise in seasonal contemporary American cuisine. And with a location so key—ski-in/ski-out via the new Frostwood Gondola—Dakota guests will want for little. $179–$3,000;
