Located below a fur store on Bridge Street in the center of Vail Village, Joe’s is known for its fast, handmade sandwiches. The overstuffed hot pastrami sandwich, which is big enough to be a powder day lunch for two, will bring your straight to NYC. The dim, perpetually crowded restaurant itself is nothing to see, so instead of trying to beat the crowd, grab a sub to go, stick it in your pack and pull out the still crisp baguette at lunchtime to make everyone paying on-mountain prices jealous (if you don’t crush it during an epic fall in Blue Sky, that is). On your way home, grab some ice cream (they offer 24 flavors) in a house-made sugar cone to reward yourself for a day well-skied.
