Antlers at Vail
This Lionshead property has studios to four-bedrooms that are all generously sized and each with full kitchens. The studios, for example, are 650 square feet, which is almost double the size of the traditional hotel room. Also Consider: Manor Vail is located at the Golden Peak base, right by ski school, so it’s a great location for families with kids taking lessons. The property offers roomy studios to condos, all with full kitchens, plus two outdoor heated pools, four hot tubs, and an on-site restaurant. Lift House Lodge
With an enviable location in Vail Village one block from the Eagle Bahn gondola, the Lift House’s studio residences are a good size at a reasonable price point. Each studio features a kitchenette, fireplace, and balcony. The property is low on amenities—there’s no restaurant or fitness center, for example—but for those looking for a place to bed down in a great location, consider this low-key property. Also Consider: Vail Racquet Club’s roomy studios and townhomes are reasonably priced, even during the heights of the season. The East Vail location is slightly off the beaten path, making this a quiet retreat, to boot. The Hythe Vail
There’s no dearth of luxury lodging in Vail, so The Hythe Vail will be in good company when it opens this ski season. The new luxury resort property features 344 rooms, 22 suites, and 16 residences appointed with modern mountain decor complemented by rustic blonde woods and open, inviting spaces. The Hythe is part of Marriott’s International Luxury Collection, and was reborn inside the Vail Mountain Marriott, taking advantage of it’s ideal Lionshead location steps from the Eagle Bahn gondola. On-brand amenities include four new restaurants and bars, wellness spa, outdoor pool and hot tubs, and reimagined spaces that have been conceived with community and gathering in mind. The Hythe is set to open in November, and booking can be made through the Vail Mountain Marriott site and will be switched over to Hythe after it opens. Also Consider: The Four Seasons Vail delivers on all of the expectations one has from a Four Seasons property, from the decadent spa to the heated poolside robes. The charming Austria Haus is a staff favorite thanks to the warm hospitality and unique ambience of the place that builds on Vail’s Bavarian-inspired roots. Welcoming skiers since the 1960s, Austria Haus is in Vail Village, steps from Bridge Street and all the action. It’s small enough to feel intimate and service-driven, yet big enough to offer amenities such as an outdoor pool and hot tub, fitness center, lobby lounge and library, and spa. But we’ve saved the best for last: In the spirit of the family-run chalets throughout the Swiss and Austrian Alps, Austria Haus serves a Euro-inspired breakfast spread daily with meats, cheeses, pastries, bread, and more. Also Consider: The Sonnenalp is another Bavarian-inspired Vail hotel. It has 112 rooms and suites in a Vail Village location that’s convenient and scenic. The classic Sonnenalp Spa and the heated indoor and outdoor pools are icing on the cake.
Gravity Haus Vail
Gravity Haus opened in September of 2020 with a new lodging concept designed for adventurous ski travelers. The membership-based concept features a four tier levels with monthly fees that starts at $50 and that get skiers perks and free or discounted stays at a Breckenridge location as well as a new Winter Park property. That said, you don’t have to be a member to sample the Gravity Haus experience this winter. The hotel took over the old Vail Mountain Lodge property and gutted the place, now serving up 22 stylish rooms and full slate of guest amenities, including fitness classes, a coffee bar, co-working spaces, a spa, and a restaurant focused on local and sustainable cuisine.
