With Park City’s newest resort hotel throwing open its doors this winter, the quintessential ski town continues to serve up some of the best lodging options in the mountain West. From families looking for plenty of space to couples seeking a luxurious weekend away, Utah’s Park City has something to satisfy all comers.

With so many options available, it can be hard to know where to start. We’ve taken the liberty of narrowing down the field for you, depending on the type of experience you’re seeking. Use this lodging guide to Park City to book the right accommodations this winter. And if you’re wondering when to book, the right time is now. Several of the accommodations below are having early-season sales right now; booking directly will almost always secure you the best deal.

Luxury Hotel

Pendry Park City

The newest kid on the block is a sleek addition to the Canyons base, where it will anchor a development that’s aiming to rival Main Street itself. The sleek Pendry Park City comprises three buildings at the base of the mountain, so while they’re calling it ski-in/ski-out, we believe slopeside is the more accurate term. Bells and whistles will be plentiful, including a decked-out spa and fitness center, four restaurants—including Japanese steakhouse Kita—a rooftop pool, a kid’s club, and an on-site ski shop for last-minute equipment needs and rentals. The California-inspired aesthetic exudes modern vibes designed around communal spaces and true relaxation. Although the property is not scheduled to open until January, you can reserve one of the 152 rooms and suites now. Current Deal: 15 Percent Off Best Available Rate When You Book Direct

Also Consider

Waldorf Astoria Park City: Another full-service resort hotel at the Canyons base, the Waldorf Astoria is a stately property that got a refresh just a couple seasons ago. Despite the Waldorf name, this is a family friendly spot with a welcoming vibe, several restaurants, and a sprawling heated outdoor pool and hot tubs. Current Deal: 25 Percent Off a One-Bedroom Suite

Families

Newpark Resort

Newpark Resort
With full kitchens or kitchenettes in every room or townhome, Newpark is ideal for families looking to spread out and keep meal costs down, Photo: Courtesy of Newpark Resort

The number one thing we look for when traveling with kids is room to spread out—staying on top of each other in a single hotel room is no vacation. The second thing we look for is a kitchen for making quick breakfasts and having snacks on hand. That’s why we like Newpark. Offering rooms and suites up to two-bedroom townhomes, the property focuses on accommodating groups of four and up, and every room type has at least a kitchenette.  Newpark is not located at the ski resort, but rather in Kimball Junction, a 10-minute drive away from the Canyons base (there’s a complimentary shuttle). That said, there’s plenty of walkable, family-friendly dining in Newpark Town Center, making this hotel a pretty turnkey vacation experience. Current Deal: Get 25 Percent Off By Booking by Sept. 30

Also Consider

Westgate Resort & Spa: Every one of Westgate’s suites to four-bedroom lofts has a kitchenette or full kitchen, plus the property boasts outdoor and indoor heated pools. This hotel is located at the Canyons base village, with easy access to the slopes.

Couple’s Getaway

Washington School House Hotel

This bed and breakfast is stylish, sleek, and meticulously appointed. Photo: Courtesy of Washington School House Hotel

This 1889 schoolhouse located off of Main Street in Park City was completely updated a few seasons ago, and now offers a boutique getaway designed with utter relaxation at the top of mind. With only 12 rooms and suites, the property is quiet, swanky, and full of unique touches, including authentic European antiques and locally quarried Utah quartzite and ice-white marble in the bathrooms. The daily breakfast and evening après-ski add a communal vibe, and the Washington School House Hotel’s location in the heart of downtown means that all of Main Street is strollable and within easy reach.

Also Consider

Hotel Park City: A few minutes’ drive from Main Street, the Hotel Park City is a boutique all-suite hotel with an intimate feel but more amenities than a bed and breakfast. The spa offers a full menu of services, including couples massages, plus herbal-infused steam rooms, saunas, and hot tubs. Current Deal: Get $100 Spa Credit With Qualified Overnight Stay

Park City Peaks

Peaks Park City
A downtown location and complimentary daily breakfast combine to make Peaks a great value-minded lodging. Photo: Courtesy of Peaks Park City

Finding a reasonably priced hotel in a ski town like Park City during peak season is no easy task. Park City Peaks ticks all the boxes for us because it’s clean and tidy, the staff is friendly, the location is convenient—it’s in downtown Park City—and you can score a room for around $300/night. You can further out into the outskirts of town and get rooms for less, of course, but Peaks is a great value for a downtown hotel. What’s more, there’s onsite rentals, an outdoor heated pool, a fitness center, and complimentary breakfast every morning. Current Deal: Book Direct and Save 25 percent Off Best Published Rate.

Also Consider

Shadow Ridge Condos: These one- through three-bedroom condos are walking distance to the Park City base and offer a good amount of space for the price, landing Shadow Ridge squarely on our “value lodging” list. Current Deal: Book a Three-Night Stay and Get a $300 Delta Gift Card

New last season, Yotel Pad slotted itself nicely into the Canyons base village with 144 “pads”—studio through three-bedroom rooms—and oodles of communal spaces designed to share your vacation experience with like-minded travelers. Rooms are modern-chic, with a minimalist vibe, and even studios have full kitchens with refrigerators and microwaves. The property’s “backyard,” with heated outdoor pool and terrace, is one of the popular gathering spots, as is the sleek lounge and game room, making sure there’s no shortage of ways to connect with other skiers here. Current Deal: 20 Percent Off Stays Through Mid-November
