Many of the old traditions that began at the Mirror Lake Inn back in 1924 continue today, making the hotel feel traditional and warm. Good food and hospitable service are the norm here, as are peace and quiet. The hotel is located at the end of the main Lake Placid drag, making it one of the quietest places to stay. The walk into town is short, but if you want to go anywhere else in town, not having a car may pose a problem. If you choose to stay around the hotel, there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied. In the summer, take a complimentary rowboat, paddleboat, kayak, or canoe out on the water. If water isn’t your thing, play a round of golf or take a tennis lesson at Mirror Lake Inn’s sister property, Whiteface Club and Resort. During the winter, go ice skating or cross-country skiing. Make sure not to leave before checking out Whiteface Mountain, the fifth highest mountain in the state. Summit on a clear day and get a great 360-degree view of the Adirondacks as well as a look into Vermont and Canada. After running around Lake Placid for the day, come back to your spacious room with a balcony and nap on the super comfortable bed.
