As our great nation's birthday approaches, it's time to ask: How will you honor your independence? We recommend a nice hike or even a ski down one of the peaks named for the visionaries who established our freedoms. If you would still rather spend the 4th kickin' it at your friend's house with beer, BBQ, and fireworks, that's ok. It's a free country, after all. Whistler's Peak to Peak Gondola

Whislter's Peak to Peak Gondola opened in December 2008. The largest construction project of its kind in North America, the gondola connects Whistler to Blackcomb so that if you want to take turns in Symphony Bowl and Seventh Heaven in the same hour, you can. The gondola spans 2.7 miles in 11 minutes—three times longer than the Golden Gate Bridge.
