"Lifts are amazing. Fast and efficient even on holidays. Best slopeslide lodging in Vermont. Only issue is lack of truly expert terrain. But the cruisers and family experience is second to none."

"An amazing mountain. Close proximity to Boston, amazing food, top notch lifts and grooming, and perfect for all levels! It really doesn't get much better than Wachusett!"

3. Holiday Valley, N.Y.

"Best little resort ever! They invest every year and the results are awesome. New lifts, new lodges, new groomers, new snow guns. Unbelievable how incredible the snow and surface. Really extremely lucky to have this resort in WNY. What it lacks in vertical more than made up in quality and experience. Ski HV!!!"

"First time at Wildcat this year and it did not disappoint: great snow, fast lifts right to the top, I skied laps until my legs could not hold me up any more. The base lodge is small and is true New England charm with out the fake stuff. Local feel and everyone there treated us great."

5. Sugarbush, Vt.

"The upgrades Sugarbush has made to lifts, food service, snowmaking, and grooming are wonderful. This season I was able to head into many places in the resort I had never been to before and I already have a few spots scoped out for next season I have never set foot in."

"Stowe Mountain Resort has the best combination of desirable attributes for skiers and their families in the East. First, of course, tons of snow. Second most importantly, an efficient trail and lift system. But, off the mountain is Stowe really shines. It's a charming Vermont village with great restaurants, hotels and lodges."
