“Great fun for the kids and improved snow making makes the skiing even better. The premium lodging at this resort is probably the best in the country for the rate charged.”

3. Jay Peak, Vt.

Jay Peak is magic when you are at the top and start down. The scenery is beautiful and the staff and fellow skiers are friendly, both in English and French. The snow quality is often great and the closest thing to powder we get in the East. The restaurants are terrific and the on-mountain food is good. The location is remote, but hotels are comfortable. The terrain is the reason to go.”

“Having been fortunate to ski at a lot of different places Stratton is like coming home every time I get to ski there. Looking forward to improvements planned by new ownership.”

8. Holiday Valley, N.Y.

Holiday is a great place to ski. We’ve stayed in both the Lodge and Hotel and have enjoyed them both. Oh, and if you need a quick ski tune-up, go see the guys in the tuning shop and they’ll fix you up while you have a cup of joe at McCardy’s.”

9. Mount Snow, Vt.

Sugarbush has it all. Bumps, groomers, xc skiing, biking, golf. The mountain always has great beers and good food, especially with the additional options on the mountain at Mt Ellen. Plentiful lodging options and Air BnBs if you want to keep costs down and bring friends. Love it here! Favorite place to ski with friends and family.”
