Snowshoe, WV, Mar. 1, 2001--Chug. Chug. Chug-chug-chug. No, this isn't a drinking contest. It's the D.C. Ski Train, and if you live in Washington, D.C., an Amtrak Superliner is going to make skiing at Snowshoe Mountain, WV a whole lot simpler.

The train will leave Union Station in D.C. and travel six hours to White Sulphur Springs, WV. A short shuttle ride will have you skiing at Snowshoe before you can finish prattling about the latest presidential scandal. The train features bi-level observation cars with a panoramic view of the passing scenery, thanks to wrap around windows. A dining car, club car, and smoking car, are other amenities included on the Superliner.

Amtrak and Snowshoe are offering four packages, which include train travel, roundtrip shuttle to Snowshoe from White Sulphur Springs, lodging at Snowshoe based on double occupancy, and lift tickets:

Lodging at Snowshoe on Wednesday and Thursday and depart Friday. Starting at $259 per person.

Lodging at Friday and Saturday and depart Sunday. Starting at $299 per person.

Lodging Wednesday through Saturday and depart Sunday. Starting at $463 per person.

Lodge at Snowshoe Sunday through Tuesday and depart Wednesday. Starting at $328 per person.
