Naniboujou Lodge

Grand Marais, Minn.

Approx. 35 miles to Lutsen Mountain

In 1928, Babe Ruth, Jack Dempsey and Ring Lardner were among the noted celebrities who signed on as charter members of the Naniboujou Lodge, once known as an ultra-exclusive club on Lake Superior's Minnesota shore. Naniboujou's owners 71 years hence have maintained its strikingly dramatic color schemes and interior integrity to make it one of the most enchanting lodging (and dining) facilities anywhere in the world.

The property¿just 15 miles east of Grand Marais¿boasts one of the most magnificent settings in the area. Perfect for skiers, the rooms have cozy, almost "doll house" qualities. Each one is invitingly warm, ideal for relaxing after a day on the hill.

Weekend winter packages include two nights' lodging, all meals, taxes and gratuities. Package prices: A queen or twin beds, with bathroom and shower, $199 for one, $299 for two. A queen with bathroom, shower/tub is $215 for a single or $329 for a double. A queen with a fireplace is packaged at $359.
