Ski Resorts Work to Keep Winter Cool

Boulder, CO Feb. 17, 2004 (NSAA PR)--National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) is dedicating Saturday Feb. 21, to environmental causes and many resorts are getting in on the action. In an effort to demonstrate NSAA's commitment to good environmental stewardship, it is adopting an Environmental Charter and is doing so for a number of reasons. "We respect the natural settings that we call home and want the same experience to be available for future generations. We are also keenly aware that our guests take the environment seriously and want us to be the most sustainable operations we can be. This means making efforts in all facets of our operations to use natural resources wisely and ensure that similar opportunities are available for future generations.

Individual resorts are embracing these environmental efforts by conserving water and energy, protecting water quality, reducing waste, protecting habitat, and managing forest and vegetative resources. NSSA says, "this Charter will provide guidance for doing so collectively in the years to come.
