Soda Springs

For around 70 years families have been coming to Soda Springs to enjoy the relaxed and unintimidating atmosphere of this little gem. True, it is a bit different from what you'd expect of a ski resort, think more along the lines of 'winter playground,' but the folks at Soda Spring say it best, 'Soda Spring is the kind of resort you choose to take your children to for their first day out on the snow.' Here you'll find only about 652 feet of vertical drop and about 16 trails. But it is easy to get to, only a mile off I-80, and once you are there it takes very little effort to get the group out onto the slopes. There are lessons and rentals available and if skiing or snowboarding isn't your thing there is also tubing and sledding and mini-snowmobiles for the kids.

Ode to Spring

It’s the most wonderful time of the year—for skiers, at least. The end of the season brings sunshine, corn snow, cold beers, and countless ways to embarrass yourself in front of the entire resort. Good times. From late-season storms to pond skims and patios, spring skiing is winter’s most excellent parting gift.
