Ski Season Dates: early June-early October
Located in New South Wales, Thredbo offers the largest snowmaking capabilities in the Southern Hemisphere covering over 148 acres. This fact, plus the highest lift-serviced skiing (6,683 yards) and the longest ski run (3.5 miles) in Australia, make Thredbo a top Australian ski resort. An impressive lift system carries 18,000 skiers an hour to the top of the mountain in seven minutes providing access to 65 marked trails. Night skiing is available on Tuesday and Saturday nights from six to nine p.m.

September 7 is a date not to miss at Thredbo. The resort has been chosen to be a part of the Torch Relay for the Sydney 2000 Olympics, and on this date the town will be alive with festivities as the torch enters the town on its journey to Sydney.
