It’s been a tough year for snow-starved skiers in much of U.S., but an even tougher year for resort bottom lines.

The good news? Conditions are finally shaping up across most of U.S. ski country, and it’s a buyer’s market for lift tickets as resorts make last-gasp efforts to reel in revenue.

Example: Liftopia  , the online ticket seller, is declaring next week, March 5-9, Play Hooky Week, offering particularly tempting late-season deals at snow-plastered resorts across the country. Ski Mountain Creek, N.J., for $22, or Powder Mountain, Utah, for $50.
