Squaw Valley USA – March 25, 2009
– Lake Tahoe’s top ranked ski resort announced that season pass prices for the 2009-2010 season have been slashed by $1000, in honor of the celebratory season that marks the 60th Anniversary of Squaw Valley’s founding and the 50th Anniversary of Squaw Valley hosting the 1960 Winter Olympics. Coined the “50/60 Pass,” the drastically reduced 2009-2010 season pass is on sale March 20, 2009.
“It is our hope that the re-structured season pass pricing is seen as a welcome benefit during these tough economic times,” says Squaw Valley USA Chairman & CEO Nancy W. Cushing. “With an incredible lineup of festivities in store for 2009-2010, the 50/60 Pass is an invitation to make Squaw Valley your home mountain and to join us next season in celebrating our heritage.”
The 2009-2010 season-long celebration is anchored by magnificent events in recognition of the resort’s 60th Anniversary and the 50th Anniversary of the 1960 Winter Olympic Games. The 50/60 celebration kicks-off opening day, Nov 21, 2009, when Squaw Valley pro-skier and base jumper, Shane McConkey, base jumps out of the resort’s legendary Cable Car.
