A beautiful day in October 2005 provided the setting for the Dream Home groundbreaking. Ready to take the first dig at the 12,000-square-foot, eight-bedroom, six-bath, three-level Dream Home are (left to right) Joe Ballstaedt, chairman/CEO, Resorts West; Jamie Pentz, Publisher, SKI Magazine; and Stephanie Luciano, SKI Magazine V.P./Marketing.
SKI group publisher Jamie Pentz gets ready to address an eager audience at the groundbreaking event. Jamie explained that SKI Magazine readers have wholeheartedly embraced not only the sport itself, but the entire skiing lifestyle, with particular interest in and passion for mountain homes. The SKI Dream Home is slated to cost $15 million upon completion. “This could truly be the best ski home ever created anywhere, said Pentz.
Part of the dazzling view Dream Home renters will ultimately experience. The lot, located in a gated Deer Valley Resort neighborhood, was chosen specifically for its 360-degree views of the ski runs, the encircling Wasatch Mountains and the picturesque Jordanelle Reservoir, seen here in the background.
The Dream Home lot sits slopeside at Deer Valley, with full access to its 91 trails, six bowls and 21 chairlifts scattered spaciously on 1,825 acres. Pictured here is Deer Valley’s Deer Crest chairlift, which runs directly behind the Dream Home site. One of the big features of the Dream Home is an outside bar and kitchen with fire pits, pizza oven, heaters and hot tubs with waterfalls flowing into them, greeting skiers upon their return home.
