The Loveland Derby, the largest amateur ski race in the U.S., runs each year at Colorado’s Loveland Ski Area. Racers ranging in age from 9 to 20 will compete in this USSA-sanctioned event, sponsored by the Loveland Race Club. Olympians such as Billy Kidd, Sara Schleper and Spider Sabich all raced the Loveland Derby in their early careers.
Skiers and spectators are welcomed to participate in a costumed race, as well as some pond skimming at the end of the Derby.
