Festival, a charming Main Street with more than 100 restaurants and three ski resorts within 10 minutes of each other (Park City Mountain Resort, The Canyons and Deer Valley), Park City, Utah, may be the quintessential ski town. Locals and visitors alike shoulder their boards along Main Street, propping them on the historic facade as they pop into Java Cow to grab a cup before catching first chair on the Town Lift (located right on Main Street). Luxury>Hotel Park City
Hotel Park City opened in early 2002, bringing a new level of luxe to the lodging scene (Deer Valley notwithstanding). Skiers hitting all three resorts will like its location, as well as the on-demand shuttles to ferry them to and fro. The Great Room, with its National Park-inspired décor, boasts enormous windows overlooking cross-country trails. Rooms are elegantly decorated with king beds, flagstone fireplaces, triple-head showers and living areas with TV, DVD and Bose surround sound. Unique>The Silver Queen Hotel
This is not your grandmother’s hotel (unless she favored leopard-print carpeting). But depending on your appetite for the unusual, the Silver Queen might be the perfect ski retreat. Set on Main Street a quick walk from the Town Lift, the hotel has 12 suites. Each has a full kitchen and a washer/dryer, and the six two-bedroom suites boast steam showers in addition to jetted tubs. Family Reunion>R&R Properties
A property-management company, R&R’s offerings run the gamut from mid-priced condos to gargantuan, ski-in/ski-out houses. The Town Lift Home, a historic 4,500-square-foot house built in 1906 on the sagebrush-covered slopes of Park City Mountain, has three sweetly decorated bedrooms and three studio apartments to house 16 people. The plush King Road Home is a five-bedroom beauty set on a perch above old-town Park City. Main Street is a downhill stroll from both-which translates into a hike on the way home. Romance>The Washington School Inn An elementary school from 1889 until 1939, this building off Main Street was renovated in 1984; today, the limestone shell is the school’s last remnant. The comfy rooms, named after former teachers, are decorated with down duvets on king or queen beds.
