New Ptarmigan Lift

: A new Leitner Poma Fixed-grip Quad will replace the current Ptarmigan lift at Lake Louise Mountain Resort. Providing a more comfortable ride for guests, this lift is also a top-drive system, which will significantly reduce power consumption. Replacement of the lift will adhere to strict environmental guidelines, which includes soil salvaging during construction, area access via existing trails only, the majority of work to be completed by hand, and grizzly bear protocol will be adhered to, including a monitoring process and education for staff and construction crew. Lake Louise Mountain Resort is working closely with Parks Canada throughout the lift replacement process.

Lake Louise Mountain Resort is traditionally one of the first ski resorts to open in North America, with dependable early season snowfall. The 2008/09 winter season is scheduled to start on Saturday,

November 8

, 2008.
