White Pass is located 12 miles from Mt. Rainier National Park and 50 miles from the city of Yakima. It is known as a laid-back and slightly off the beaten path kind of ski area with great views, an average snowfall of 300 inches, a wide variety of terrain and a focus on creating a very family-friendly atmosphere. With a vertical of 1,500 feet and a total of about 635 acres of terrain White Pass isn’t the biggest resort around, but don’t let that deter you from visiting. Its high altitude makes for great snow, crowds and lift lines are usually not a problem here and the natural terrain is sure to appeal to the freeriders in the group, there is also night skiing on the weekends for most of the season as well as an excellent learning center and extensive rental shop.
