Black Crows create a balance between performance and design that has people flocking to get their own pair of these innovative skis.
History of Black Crow Skis
Black Crows skis started in 2006 when professional skiers Camille Jaccoux and Bruno Compagnet were dissatisfied with freeski brands and models available to them. After receiving financial backing from a friend, they created Black Crows from their home in Chamonix, France, and built one of the most profitable independent ski brands in North America. The Black Crows are still headquartered in Chamonix, and the skis are manufactured in Europe.
With a mission to create a new shape of powder ski, Black Crows were designed to have a large wingspan to withstand high speed turns with a shape that can turn quickly. The first ski launched by Black Crows was the Corvus 196. This was a long and wide ski with a progressive tip and well-defined sidecut to fly through deep snow but still fun and quick during short swing turns. The launch of the Corvus rocked the free ski world. Professional and recreational skiers alike lined up to try the newest innovation in freeskiing.
Frustrated with the lack of attention and design to advanced women’s skis, Black Crows also launched their own line of women’s skis. Their women’s skis include designs for resort, all-terrain, big mountain, and touring.
