Boulder, Colo. Oct. 9, 2002 (BEWI Press Release)–What a great time to be involved with snowsports! You can just feel the energy and the building enthusiasm of the coming winter season. Our favorite sports—skiing and snowboarding—were showcased to the world at the Salt Lake Winter Olympic Games and the Winter X Games in Aspen Colo., and the result is that millions were introduced, and developed an interest in, the joys of winter. This fall, when the media starts its’ post-Olympic publicity push, that interest is expected to be off the charts. All together it means that all eyes-consumer and media-will be focused on winter sports once again.

For more than twenty years, BEWI’s consumer SnowSports Expos have brought together the entire winter recreation scene in six major markets throughout the country. The Expos are where fun and excitement come together with the industry’s core customers—today’s active and committed skiers and snowboarders. Highlighted this year by a special Olympic Review and a “Winner’s Circle Salute” to the athletes who competed in the Olympics, all BEWI Expos will continue to feature a heavily promoted pre-season retail sale. The Expos will also include extensive exhibits by mountain resorts, industry manufacturers and a host of winter travel and tourism companies.

All of this excitement will be broadcast to skiers and snowboarders extensively through the media buzz BEWI creates in each city by its unique partnerships with leading newspapers, radio and TV stations as well as burgeoning online media outlets. Together, these efforts bring thousands of demographically ideal customers together to kick-off their winter season at the SnowSports Expos.

BEWI knows, and has proven over the years, that the key to success in today’s marketplace means reaching the greatest number of potential customers by the most economical use of one’s marketing dollars. BEWI’s goal in producing its’ SnowSports Expos, is to provide a way for the winter recreation industry to increase its’ business by attracting more people to the mountains.

Combining our proven success at generating pre-season excitement at our Expos with the inherent energy coming from last year’s highly regarded and watched Olympic Games and Winter X Games, we know will make this the best series of fall Expos ever! Don’t miss the opportunity, you definitely want to be there.
