The 2005 U.S. Freeskiing Open, presented by Saab will air nationally on NBC on Saturday, February 19, 2005 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. EST.

The 2005 U.S. Freeskiing Open, presented by Saab, the largest and most respected contest in freeskiing, completed competition in Vail, Colorado with the men's and women's Superpipe competition, coming on the heals of Saturday's exciting Saab/Salomon Crossmax Series and nighttime Big Air invitational, and Friday's Slopestyle finals. Tanner Hall took first in the men's Superpipe, claiming the $7,000 prize, while Sarah Burke placed first in the women's division carrying a $2,500 prize. The largest cash prize of the contest, $10,000, went to TJ Schiller for his first place finish in the nighttime Big Air invitational.

In its eighth year, the 2005 U.S. Freeskiing Open features the biggest names in men's and women's freeskiing in four disciplines — Big Air, Slopestyle, Superpipe and the Saab/Salomon Crossmax Series — with a total $75,000 purse. The 2005 Saab U.S. Freeskiing Open is a qualifying event for the USSA World Championships. The top finishers from Men's Saab/Salomon Crossmax and Men's Superpipe are guaranteed spots in the competition.
