Arapahoe Basin, CO, October 29, 2003–Arapahoe Basin ski area officials are excited to announce the ski area’s opening day for the 2003-04 ski season. A-Basin will open Thursday, October 30, 2003, with one lift and one run. The Exhibition chair will open to the public at 9:00 a.m. Skiers and riders can look forward to a 12-20 inch base on the High Noon run.
The snowmaking crew and groomers have taken advantage of the recent coldtemperatures. “The ski area will open on its earliest date in history witha quality product from midway to the base area,” said Alan Henceroth,Director of Mountain Operations.
KSMT will be on site with a live remote, music, and prize giveaways. The ski area will be giving away souvenir water bottles to the first 200 visitors. Ski area personnel will be hosting an opening day party at the Dillon Dam Brewery Thursday night from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with a live radio remote and prizes.
Adult lift tickets on opening day will be $35, youth tickets (ages 15-19) will be $32 and child tickets (ages 6-14) will be $15. Ski and board rentals, food and beverage, Sixth Alley bar and retail shop will be available and open. Ski school lessons will be available when the Molly Hogan Beginner Center opens in November.
A-Basin’s Bonus Pass is available through November 9, 2003.
