Aspen Awash in Snow

Aspen, CO, Jan. 31--Almost six feet of snow has fallen at Aspen ski resort this month. The resort's four mountains--Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass--have seen storm after storm in the last few weeks.

So far 78 inches have fallen in January--almost 40 inches in the last week. This breaks a twenty-year snowfall record of 43.15 inches for the month. The snow totals will likely climb even higher, as forecasters are predicting more snow forecast over the weekend.
